Pact seeks an experienced Project Director to lead the implementation of an anticipated donor-funded Project. The project will support early-stage work to understand human trafficking in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)’s tantalum, tin, and tungsten (3T) supply chains and develop a co-design and tested program model for response. This position is contingent upon award. The successful candidate will bring a strong network across the DRC mining sector and demonstrated ability to convene senior government officials, mining and supply-chain actors, civil society, communities, and other stakeholders around complex and sensitive issues. The position will oversee a Research Lead, but the Director must also have strong applied research and facilitation experience, including conducting key informant interviews (KIIs), facilitating focus group discussions (FGDs), and designing and leading multi-stakeholder workshops.
The Project Director will be responsible for overall leadership of the project and for the management and operations of project activities. The Project Director will supervise high-quality technical implementation and project delivery, with a focus on achieving project goals and donor objectives. The Project Director will coordinate activities across all relevant stakeholders, including the donor, host government authorities, private sector, civil society and community-based organizations, community representatives, implementing partners, and other system stakeholders. The Project Director will provide day-to-day management to a Research Lead, directly lead stakeholder consultations and co-design workshops, and oversee feasibility pilots. They will ensure an adaptive, evidence-based, and collaborative approach to project management. Ultimately, the Project Director will be responsible for ensuring that project results are met or exceeded on time and within budget.
The Project Director position will be based in Goma with frequent travel to/within North Kivu, South Kivu, Maniema, Tanganyika, and Haut-Katanga provinces.
