Pact seeks an experienced Chief of Party (COP) for the USAID-funded Sustainable Peace (SP) Activity. SP is a USAID-funded contract which focuses on building peace and social cohesion throughout the country. The five-year activity ends in April 2028. This position is classified as key personnel; therefore, final recruitment is contingent upon USAID approval.
The Sustainable Peace Activity aims to create a platform where USAID/Ethiopia can assist Ethiopian stakeholders to demonstrate greater resilience to prevent and respond to destabilizing manifestations of conflict. Specifically, Sustainable Peace will strengthen legitimate structures and processes, including local peacebuilding committees, to effectively and non-violently manage national-, regional-, and local-level conflict issues and to expand collective awareness, access, and willingness of Ethiopians to utilize non-violent systems to address grievances and mediate interests without violence.
The COP will be responsible for technical leadership and the overall management and operations of the Activity. The COP will supervise high-quality project implementation, with a focus on achieving the project goals and USAID/Ethiopia development objectives. The COP will take a leadership role in coordination of all activities across all relevant parties including USAID, the Government of Ethiopia, civil society organizations, key stakeholders, and implementing partners. The COP will also oversee all project staff and sub-partners for results-oriented planning, leadership, and coordination of project activities.
