    Position Overview

    The Learning Networks & Communities of Practice Specialist, Knowledge Management and Learning will support Pact’s management, innovation, and business development teams, as well as designated strategic priorities through engaging with internal and external communities of practice and managing relationships with external learning networks. S/he will be primarily responsible for managing relationships and engaging with Pact’s internal and external communities of practice and open learning networks.

    Key Responsibilities

    The Learning Networks & Communities of Practice Specialist, Knowledge Management and Learning will be primarily responsible for managing relationships and engaging with Pact’s internal and external communities of practice and open learning networks.  The Learning Networks & Communities of Practice Specialist will:

    • Support the development of processes for capturing and sharing business knowledge and learning
    • Facilitate online and offline collaboration and shared learning activities
    • Be the internal point of contact for advice and guidance on the launch, growth, and effectiveness of communities of practice
    • Support the development of open learning platforms and processes for connecting internal influencers to those networks
    • Bring the collective wisdom of Pact and its networks to inform and accelerate the initiatives of the Transformation Lab
    • Contribute to ongoing Knowledge Management and Learning initiatives and thought leadership
    • Partner with other team members on primary research projects
    • Support Knowledge Management and Learning strategic priorities
    • Perform other Knowledge Management and Learning responsibilities, as required

    Basic Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in a field relating to international development, knowledge management and learning, communications, or library science
    • 2-3 years of experience managing and engaging with successful online communities of practice (within a business or non-profit setting, preferred)
    • Possess a spirit of intellectual curiosity, creativity, collaboration, and innovation
    • Strong research and analytical skills
    • Willingness and ability to think “out-of-the box”

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Demonstrated expertise in activating and engaging online community groups and advocates; and in agile learning
    • Experience working with cross-functional teams and facilitating thought leadership and learning discussions
    • Experience with capturing and disseminating tacit and explicit knowledge
    • Comfort with connecting knowledge and people
    • Great presentation, interpersonal and relationship-building skills
    • Experience with Jive Software, a plus
    • Excellent English writing and editing skills
    • Ability to speak more than one language
    • Ability and willingness to travel up to 15%
