    Position Overview

    Pact is recruiting for an OVC / AGYW Lead for an upcoming global project based in Washington, DC - Reach Targeted Children and Youth with PEPFAR specified services in USAID PEPFAR Program (RCAY) whose goal is to reach and sustain HIV/AIDS epidemic control for pregnant women, children and adolescents by supporting them through targeted clinical, prevention and mitigation interventions. The program will also provide an avenue for countries to transition their prime awards to indigenous partners.

     

    The OVC / AGYW Lead will provide technical leadership and operational oversight for specific projects and will serve as a liaison for relevant project stakeholders. The OVC / AGYW Lead will lead technical design and implementation of targeted evidence-based interventions for OVC and adolescents and catalyze innovation in country-specific program design and implementation. The position is contingent upon award.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Responsible for the overall technical excellence of OVC / AGYW aspects of the project and management of related project activities.
    • Maintain excellent working relationships with key OVC / AGYW stakeholders such as government ministries, development partners, civil society organizations and networks, universities, professional organizations.
    • Contribute to project planning (i.e., development of work plans and operating budget) and reporting (i.e., review and approve periodic budgets and reports).
    • Ensure that Pact provides high-quality technical assistance to local partners; conduct regular monitoring and mentoring visits to local partners.
    • Thoughtfully contribute to all project reporting and external communications.
    • Lead a community of practice within the project’s global portfolio in OVC / AGYW to foster cross-country learning and create a robust feedback loop.
    • Represent the project at conferences, working groups, and meetings to support USAID and Pact’s thought leadership in OVC / AGYW.
    • Provide regular written/oral program progress updates as requested.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Basic Requirements

    • Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in a relevant field, such as public health, or international development.
    • At least 10 years’ experience providing OVC, AGYW and clinical health technical support and oversight to large complex, donor-funded projects in developing or transitional countries. 
    • Eligibility to work in the US required.
    • Ability to travel internationally periodically.

    • Demonstrated track record of successfully building and effectively managing diverse teams of employees.   
    • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and creative problem-solving skills.
    • Demonstrated ethical management practices.
    • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with governments and civil society partners.
    • Professional-level English language skills (written and oral).
    • Previous senior-level management and/or advisory experience working on USAID-funded projects
